Sunday, 29th May
- Monday, 30th May
Venue: Aston Hall
After having a brilliant time at last year's event we were delighted to be invited back to the Book Bash, again taking over the grounds of Aston Hall for May bank holiday with a jammed programme of readings, activities and workshops for young people.
As in 2010 we're hosting a film tent where you can find short films and cartoons screening for free throughout the day, including Oscar-winning animation The Lost Thing (right) which wowed audiences at Flatpack back in March. We'll also have some live entertainment courtesy of pianist Paul Shallcross, who will be accompanying some classic slapstick films at midday and 3pm on Sunday 29th. Then on the Monday we have a lunchtime showing of award-winning French feature Eleanor's Secret, about a secret library where the books come to life.
The Book Bash is just one part of the Young Readers Festival, running until 4th June.
